jaws with USB phone and skype

hi guys, using jaws with a USB phone in skype. How do I tell jaws to use sound card on pc? its all coming via the phone, so I can't leave it plugged in.

any suggestions?

first of all, which version of jaws do you have? You need to edit the JFW.ini file found in the jaws program directory. Here's a link that tells how to do it. Don't worry about installing the eloquence driver. This article is quite old.

ok, running 6.20, and can't find the JFW.ini file. where should I be looking for this file?

go to the start menu, programs, jaws 6.20, explore settings, and explore program files. You should find it there.

had to search for file in the end. didn't work though. is this tech report still valid? it was posted in 2003 and the ini change just stopped all speech.

yeah, it works. I use it with 7.1 just fine. Mind posting the ini file? Also, what sound card do you have.

SB live. the tech report suggests placing SB live! wave device, as the edited line. will try again when i have more time this weekend

Yeah. Assuming you want to use eloquence, place this line after Synth1Driver
